Halo 3 Plasma pistol prop

I was asked to assist with the art department on a Halo fan film project, and naturally some covenant gear was needed. I went and made a plasma pistol prop that could be enhanced with VFX by using reflective tape in place of electronics due to budget constraints ( and wanting to R&D some VFX techniques to mimic the glowing weapon).
I really wanted to push my fusion 360 knowledge with this prop and to assist with the sanding/finishing stage of the 3D print made a large number of parts separate instead of a single high detail part to assist with the overall ease of assembly.
The metallic blue parts were done with a purple base colour, and a Vinyl hex stencil to mask before applying a metallic blue paint. This was done to mimic the colour shift look from Halo 2 and 3.
A well worth experimental build, and would do again.
